Irest Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a guided mindfulness and mediation practice. Nidra means sleep and Yoga Nidra refers to a yogic sleep....a state that exists while we are awake and just before we fall asleep, usually momentary and perhaps difficult to remember. In yoga nidra, there we stay, riding the crest of the wave between sleep and wakefulness, suspended in no place and no time . This state in our consciousness can be deeply relaxing, restorative and transformative. It's not a state that is easily reached on our own at first so there is usually a teacher guiding practitioners into a Nidra.
Irest is a research and evidence based yoga nidra system that has been adapted to use everyday language making it accessible to all. The Irest technique carefully leads us through our internal enquiry to help us develop greater insight into our personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs. It encourages a deep relaxation and with regular practice it can help to alleviate stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, leaving a deep sense of peace and well being. It can help us get a better nights sleep, deliver deep insights into the conundrums of our daily lives and help us find our inner strength again.
